"Passion for Pictures" by Jino Lee

Jino Lee is an international award winning travel photographer based in Singapore and photography instructor with a leading Japanese imaging company.

Having spent over 15 years as a musician and sound engineer in the entertainment industry, Jino traded late nights for sunrise and took up photography late at age 35. He quickly learns the ropes by assisting in commercial photo studios before striking out on his own in event and wedding photography business. However his passion in photography as much as in life has always been in travel and he started pursuing travel photography in 2004.

Jino finds inspiration in photographing people and culture especially in developing countries. As an assignment travel photographer, he photographs a broad range of subjects that are related to the tourism industry. His picture centered mostly on human interest, fused with the beauty or the uniqueness of the locations. He is particularly well known for capturing simple and mundane things in daily lives and turning them into interesting pictures and stories.

After much persuasion from his peers, he started participating in international photography competitions in 2012 and managed to win several awards almost immediately. The biggest award thus far is the Travel Photographer of the Year Award. His unique teaching style and contribution to the photography community has not gone unnoticed and the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) awarded him a Gold followed by Platinum. EXSA is a national award organised by ASA and SPRING Singapore that recognises the individuals who have delivered quality service in the industry.

Today he continues to shoot, teach and organising photo tours with patience, dedication and passion and hence his tag line "Passion for Pictures". When he is not working, he loves to travel back to his hometown Penang to enjoy his favourite desserts.
